Brockley Refurbishment Project
Repairs outside and inside the house. This semi-detached Victorian house was converted into 7 flats in mid-sixties. We gave this house a second life by converting it back to its original.
About this project
A large semi-detached Victorian house in Brockley SE4 that had been split into seven flats in the 1960s. We took it back to a single family home: the flat partitions came out, the rooms were opened up again and the house was repaired inside and out.
The gallery follows the full strip-out, new openings between the reception rooms, a fitted kitchen with built-in stainless steel ovens, and the restored main staircase with its curved timber handrail and turned balusters. The dining room was finished with recessed ceiling lights. At lower ground level we formed a new window opening and poured a new concrete floor over a damp-proof membrane, and at the front we prepared the ground for new hard landscaping.
